The Truth in a Tree
On the same tree,
Nay, on the same branch
Some parts are alive and green with tufts of pine
Other parts appear devoid of life
One tree capturing the very essence of our plight:
Even with the same nourishment, the same conditions,
Not everything grows equally well,
Not everything flourishes.
The truth of the world, the truth of samsara
Beyond the branch,
Which is both living and dead,
Simultaneously green and barren
Blue sky
